Background of Executive Staff
Our President and CEO, Ted W. Smith, has been in the property management industry for 29 years. Mr. Smith graduated with his B.S. from The University of Kansas in 1979. He holds the designation of Certified Property Manager, (CPM), and the Professional Community Association Manager, (PCAM) designation. Mr. Smith brings extensive HOA knowledge above and beyond that of the typical property manager. Prior to purchasing Select Management Company in 1998, Mr. Smith was President of Apple Residential Incorporated, a REIT involved in the acquisition and management of a large portfolio of high-end multi family. Mr. Smith had an extensive background in high end multifamily management in senior corporate capacities.
Our Chief Operating Officer, COO, Andrea Meyer, graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in Psychology. She also holds the highest designation in Community Management, the PCAM (Professional Community Association Manager). HOA management relies heavily on dealing with people therefore her expertise assists all of our employees and homeowners. Andrea is very proficient in developing strategies and new programs that benefit our communities. She has also previously owned and operated her own business where she managed a staff of 15.
Our Chief Financial Officer, CFO, Bob Speelman, graduated with his B.S. from the University of Central Missouri and has an extensive background in HOA accounting and public accounting. Bob has been Controller/Senior Accountant, responsible for accounting functions for 60 Homeowners Associations including financial statement preparation, budget preparation, and coordination of audits and tax return preparations. |
